Seventeen Karamojong warrior, have appeared before the third division court martial in Moroto, to answer charges of illegal possession of firearms.
The third division army spokesperson, Lt Henry Obbo, says most of the warriors were arrested during a cordon and search operation in Karamoja region.

Five warriors were on Saturday, convicted and sentenced to jail terms ranging from eight to ten years, while twelve others were sent on remand to Moroto government prison. The court martial was presided over by Lt. Col Eugene Sebugwawo.
Meanwhile, the army has also recovered more than 290 guns. Obbo say the guns were recovered this month, in operations conducted by the army this month.
