Young Man Hacked to Death in Buwenge

The deceased's father, Edward Tebiila says that his son has not been involved in any known conflicts in the area and he has no idea about the possible killer's motive.

Police in Kiira region is investigating the circumstances under which 30-year-old Franco Kisseka, a resident of Namalere-Kabaganda village, in Buwenge sub-county of Jinja district was chopped to death and dumped behind his house on Monday night.

His lifeless body was found with deep wounds on the head, stomach and on the back.

Kisseka is reported to have left his home for the trading center on Monday morning, but he never returned home at the night, which raised suspicion about his whereabouts.

His family members informed local leaders about their missing relative, prompting concerned residents to mount a search for him, only to find his body lying behind his house.

The deceased has been taken to Buwenge health center IV mortuary, awaiting postmortem.

Kisseka's father, Edward Tebiila says that his son has not been involved in any known conflicts in the area and he has no idea about the possible killer's motive.

"We are largely a peaceful family without any outstanding grudges against any of our neighbors, but I am hopeful that police will provide us with a conclusive report concerning my son's death," he said.

Meanwhile, the Kiira regional spokesperson, James Mubi says that efforts to hunt down suspects are underway and a team of detectives has been dispatched to expedite investigations into the matter.
