Four teachers of Acorn International School have been charged with neglect of duty and remanded to Luzira prison, three days after a three-year-old child was found dead in the school’s swimming pool.

Frolence Awor, Hassama Wagogo, Deborah Akado and Edith Nsasira have, however, denied negligently causing the death of Sunshine Mitchell Baraza at Kampala City Hall Court.

Grade One magistrate Julius Borere remanded them to prison until August 11 so that the Director of Public Prosecutions completes inquires into the case.

The teachers were arrested from the school’s premises in Bukoto Kampala on Monday, shortly after Sunshine Baraza’s body was found floating in the swimming pool.
