4 Critically injured in Kabale Bus Accident

The injured included the Bus driver, Rambekyi Bwana who has been rushed to Rwanda for treatment. The others; Patricia Kyomugisha a bus passenger, Dan, the trailer driver and another unidentified male adult Passenger are now receiving treatment at Kabale regional referral hospital's surgical ward.
Four People were today morning critically injured in an accident at Kicumbi along the Kabale –Katuna road.

The 4; 00 a.m. accident involved a Isuzu bus belonging to anotracom Company Registration number GR765C destined for Kigali-Rwanda and a trailer registration number UAP170F/UAL650X which was heading to Kampala.

The injured included the Bus driver, Rambekyi Bwana who has been rushed to Rwanda for treatment. The others; Patricia Kyomugisha a bus passenger, Dan, the trailer driver and another unidentified male adult  Passenger are now receiving treatment at Kabale regional referral hospital's surgical ward.

Other passengers sustained minor injuries and were able to proceed to Kigali.

Kigezi regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the Bus rammed into the trailer leading to a head on collision in an area referred to by the locals as a ‘spot of curses.'

The area is a known black spot where over 90 lives have been lost in accidents since 2002.

On the 12th of August 2013 an accident involving a bus belonging to Baby coaches collided with a Fuso Lorry at the same spot Killing One person and leaving 12 others critically injured.  On 7th of June 2005 30 passengers died on the same spot when a bus collided with a Fuso truck.

A bus accident on the same spot way back in 2003 claimed 64 lives. Most of those who were killed were Rwanda Nationals.
