4 Held Over Murder

Bijura was strangled to death on April 6th while on his way to the garden.
Kanungu Police is holding 4 suspects in connection to the murder of 72-year-old Bijura Privato, a resident of Bugiri Village in Kanyantorogo Sub County and injuring her son Ben Twinomuhangi. Bijura was strangled to death on April 6th while on his way to the garden.

The suspects were picked up by police on a tip off from residents who had closely monitored their movement after the attack on Twinomuhangi. It is alleged that the suspects ganged up against Bijura accusing him of marrying off his daughter to another man without paying the bride price to her first husband.

 

Edison Muhangi, the Kanungu District Police Commander says that the suspects were pickup from a nearby forest where they found hiding. He identifies the suspects as Fred Byabagambi, Ben Tukwasibwe, Twesigomwe Joseph and a one Bakeshisha. He says that the suspects will be arraigned in court to face murder charges once investigations are complete.

 

Muhangi says it is unfortunate that resident have resorted to take the law into their hands yet there are avenues where disputes can be resolved without blood shade.
