40 members of the ruling National Resistance Movement in Kasese have defected to Amama Mbabazi\'s Go-Forward. This as The Democratic Alliance -Go Forward Coalition claimed that several NRM members join presidential aspirant Amama Mbabazi every day.
TDA-Go Forward spokesperson, Mike Mabikke made the claims while addressing journalists in a press conference at Mbabazi\'s campaign offices in Nakasero, where he introduced some of the defectors.

Saddam Gayira of People\'s Progressive Party displayed NRM cards belonging to 40 NRM party members in Mubende, whom he claims joined Go-Forward over the weekend.

At the same briefing, the Go-Forward team welcomed and showed 40 other former members of NRM from Kasese.
The team led by Charles Masumbuka say they were dissatisfied with the manner in which the NRM party primaries had been conducted, citing unfairness, rigging and unclear register.

The leaders of former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya\'s Pressure for National Unity (PNU) also denounced Bukenya and declared support for Mbabazi. Bukenya recently declared support for President Yoweri Museveni in the 2016 elections.
The acting PNU Secretary General Wambi Nasser stated that that the group would not be diverted from a popular cause because of Bukenya\'s individual interests.
