50-year-old Commits Suicide after Domestic Brawl

The two reportedly had a heated argument over four million Shillings which the deceased’s wife, Hajara Nakisinge is said to have stolen. They have reportedly been bickering for several months over the money until the latest incident which left the wife and the child with severe injuries.

A 50-year-old man has committed suicide in Bugweri district after a domestic brawl. The man, identified as Muzamil Ndikulwange is reported to have committed suicide after hitting his wife with two nails in the head. He also chopped off the left ear of his six-year-old son.  

The two reportedly had a heated argument over four million Shillings which the deceased’s wife, Hajara Nakisinge is said to have stolen. They have reportedly been bickering for several months over the money until the latest incident which left the wife and the child with severe injuries.  

Nakisinge and her son were rushed to Iganga General Hospital for treatment. She later told journalists that have reported threats against her life without success.  

“My husband was beating me every day, and I informed officers at our local police post about the situation but save for warning him to reform, not much was done until yesterday when my husband hit me badly and decided to take his life,” she says. 

A brother to the deceased told URN that the couple has experienced relentless fights over infidelity and finance related issues. 

“I have been living here for the past two years, and my brother and his wife have always had fights over infidelity and money related issues, we even held family meetings to settle their problems, but their fights could not stop,” he says.  

Busoga East Police Spokesperson, James Mubi, told URN in a telephone interview that investigations are still ongoing.

The deceased was taken to Iganga General Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
