Eighty two suspected criminals have been sent on remand at Mubuku government prison in Kasese district.
The suspects were part of a bigger group of 339 people who were arrested by police in an operation intended to crack down on suspected criminals in the district.
The district police commander, Felix Ebong, says several people including students were nabbed at Mariana and atlas night clubs.
He says that the operation will continue, for as long as it takes police to eliminate criminal elements who have been terrorizing the residents.
