87 Kalerwe Church Collapse Victims Discharged from Hospital

87 of the 103 people who were injured in a church collapse in Kalerwe earlier this month have been discharged from Mulago Hospital.

The City of the Lord Church in Kalerwe, just outside Kampala city collapsed during the rainstorm. 22 people were killed in the incident.

The Mulago Hospital spokesperson, Eliphaz Ssekabira, says 87 of the injured were recently declared out of danger and discharged. Sekabira says 10 others are in stable condition, but are still hospitalized because of the severe injuries.

There were about 300 people in the church building at the time of the collapse. Government has instituted an inquiry into the incident.
