A total of 9,686 people have been registered to receive the covid-19 relief cash in Kasese District.

The updated list was submitted on Friday after the office of the municipal town clerk received numerous complaints from people who were not registered because they lacked phone numbers.

Last week, the government started the distribution of 100,000 shillings to vulnerable persons who were affected by the covid-19 lockdown and the deadline for data entry was extended to Friday.

The Kasese Municipality Town Clerk Isaiah Twesigye says more than 150 people who qualify to receive the relief cash do not have telephone numbers, but they were added to the list for consideration.
