Accident Claims Kabale Court Clerk

According to Maate, Kamugisha breathed his last in Kyazanga in Lwengo district around 05:00pm on Tuesday while being rushed to Mulago National Referral hospital. He says the deceased had a swollen head, chest and other injuries around his body.

Darias Kamugisha, a court clerk attached to Kabale Magistrate’s court has died in a motor accident. 

Kamugisha was involved in an accident at Nyakigugwe in Kaharo Sub County in Kabale district along Mbarara-Kabale Highway around 4am on Tuesday morning. 

Andrew Muyambi, the Officer-in-charge of traffic at Kabale Police Station, says that Kamugisha’s Toyota Premio Vehicle registration number UAS 245T lost control and over turned several times after he failed to negotiate a corner.  

Muyambi says Kamugisha was alone in the vehicle when the accident occurred. 

Ely Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, says the deceased who was heading to Kabale town from Mbarara was rushed to Rugarama hospital from where he was referred to Mulago National Referral hospital when his condition worsened.  

According to Maate, Kamugisha breathed his last in Kyazanga in Lwengo district around 05:00pm on Tuesday while being rushed to Mulago National Referral hospital.  He says the deceased had a swollen head, chest and other injuries around his body.  

Maate says although they are yet to establish the exact cause of the accident, preliminary investigations point to over speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
