Trouble for the officials started when the Adjumani principal Human Resource Manager Norbert Igama failed to provide the committee with necessary documents as responses to the audit queries raised by the Auditor general for the 2022/2023 financial year.
The Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Local Government on Thursday threw out Adjumani district local government officials over failure to present evidence for audit queries.
Trouble for the officials started when the Adjumani principal Human Resource Manager Norbert Igama failed to provide the committee with necessary documents as responses to the audit queries raised by the Auditor General for the 2022/2023 financial year.
Other district officials who appeared before the committee at Arua School of Comprehensive Nursing in Arua City told the committee members that some of the evidence to the queries was on their laptops and smartphones as soft copies, something which angered the committee members.
Repeated pleas by James Ocen Andrew, the Adjumani District Chief Administrator (CAO) to the committee members to provide evidence at a later time fell on deaf ears of the members.

Cue out…for that query .” //
John Musila, the chairperson for the session and also MP Bubulo East ruled that the district officials leave the meeting and organize themselves before they can reappear.
//Cue in; “CAO I think ...
Cue out…you prepare yourself.” //
Meanwhile, Kitanya Sowedi, Busongora North and the lead counsel for the session accused the district officials of being unprepared to respond to the audit.
//Cue in; “I was thinking...
Cue out…work on you.” //
However, Richard Kaijuka Arthur, the Adjumani District Vice chairperson acknowledged the lack of preparedness of the officials. He however said that they would return before the committee with the required evidence.
//Cue in; “Sorry we have...
Cue out…allotted to us.” //
The Parliament Public Accounts Committee for Local Government have currently pitched a camp in West Nile to probe audit queries raised by the Auditor General in the 2022/2023 Financial year.
