Uganda People\'s Congress (UPC) supporters loyal to Jimmy Akena on Friday stormed The Democratic Alliance (TDA) offices in Naguru and removed the UPC flag.
Akena, who entered the offices first was later followed by his supporters who held placards dismissing the leadership of Olara Otunnu, and highlighting that UPC was not part of The Democratic Alliance.
Immediately after holding a brief meeting with the alliance\'s Godber Tumushabe, the UPC flag was lowered and taken inside the The Democratic Alliance office.
Jimmy Akena told journalists that they are not party to the alliance and that they have not endorsed any particular candidate for the joint opposition candidate.

Otunnu\'s UPC is one of the opposition political parties that endorsed the candidature of former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi as a joint presidential candidate. Otunnu and Akena are battling for leadership of the UPC, with Otunnu yet to organize a delegates\' conference while a section of supporters loyal to Akena installed him party president.
