Voters who turned up at President Yoweri Museveni\'s rally at Amolatar Boma Grounds, asked him and his ruling National Resistance Movement party to work on bad roads in Lango sub-region.

The residents through their leaders want the government to consider upgrading the road stretching from Dokolo town to Namasale landing site in Amolatar district. The 120km  road is currently in an appalling state.

Bosco Okello, a resident of Muntu Sub-county says the bad road network in the district has made trading expensive in terms of time and money.

Peter Odyek, another resident wants the NRM government to rehabilitate community roads in the district which, he said is equally in a bad state.

Odyek, who says he will vote for President Museveni  thanked him for  for having restored security and peace in the region.

Simon Peter Ongom, the district LCV chairperson also the NRM party flag bearer for the same position,  asked candidate Museveni to upgrade Amolatar Health Centre IV to a general district hospital. Currently Amolatar has only one health centre IV.

In  response,  President Museveni said his government is committed to improving the infrastructure in the country. He attributed poor roads network to corrupt officials.

He says the government will soon start rehabilitating and upgrading the road  from Dokolo to Namasale landing site, in Amolatar district.

Prior to his arrival, several NRM party officials including Mike Mukula, the Eastern regional NRM vice chairperson, warned the people of Lango never to forget the contributions made by the NRM government such as restoring peace in the region.
