Another solider attached to the security detail of Gen Aronda Nyakairima; the Chief of Defense Forces has died following an accident in Arua district. Corporal John Bosco Muganza died at Mulago national referral hospital, where he was rushed in critical condition. The death of Muganza brings to two, the number of soldiers killed as a result of the fatal accident that occurred at Indebu village in Okollo Sub County on Wednesday morning.
Corporal Herbert Mwesigye was killed on spot. The accident occured after the front tyre of the Land cruiser number H4DF 1188 in which the soldiers were traveling got a puncture forcing it to veer off the road and overturn several times. Lt. Mark Mutono, the West Nile UPDF spokesperson says the soldiers were traveling from Kampala to receive Gen. Aronda who had flown to Arua Air field. He says four other soldiers who were taken to Bombo Hospital are recuperating.

He says the army has already notified the lives of the deceased and injured soldiers. He says UPDF will cover all the burial expenses and treatment cost for the dead and injured soldiers. Although Lt Mutono declined to reveal details of General Aronda’s visit to Arua, reports show that the army chief flew to the region to address border security issues.
