for National Transformation-ANT party is planning to conduct internal party
elections in August 2021 to streamline its structures from the grassroots. The

the National Coordinator of the Alliance for National Transformation, says the
absence of the party structures affected the mobilization of support for their
candidates in the just concluded general elections. Regional
reports from the party post-election review meetings indicated among others
that the party didn't have enough candidates, campaign agents and voters
because of the absence of structures to mobilise the public.
Alaso says as they concluded their review meetings in the Central
region, they shall have a planning meeting to draw a clear roadmap for the
establishment of the structures. She says that they shall start by establishing

Owekitiibwa Ssewava Sserubiri, the Coordinator for Buganda region, says that structures
are a good mobilization strategy through, which they can popularize the party
and what it stands for.
Ssewava says they suffered a setback with COVID 19 and lost time to establish
party structures as had earlier been planned. He says Ugandans are desperate
for change but need a leadership that is well organized to deliver the change
they need and manage the country in an orderly manner.

The ANT president Gen. Mugisha Muntu says although the
election was rigged as the opposition they shouldn’t wallow in lamentation but
move to make self-assessment and lay strategies for the next elections. Muntu
says the right time to plan for the 2026 election is now and that's why they
want to start establishing grassroots structures immediately.
He says that they shall train Committee members on the true
values of leadership and other leadership skills. Muntu argues that there has
been change in leadership in Uganda that has always ended in injustice,
corruption and bad governance among others.

characterized by brutality against the opposition.
