Armed Thugs Rob UGX 25m from Indian Businessman

Hoima Police are hunting for suspected thugs accused of robbing an Indian businessman Shillings 25.6 million at gunpoint.    

The thugs reportedly waylaid Hammed Khaleelundin, the Sales Executive Manager of John Distillers Uganda Limited at Kikobooza village along Hoima-Fort-Portal road in Buhimba sub-county in Kikuube district on Monday and placed him at gunpoint.  

They ordered him to surrender the money in his possession before they sped off in a numberless vehicle.  

Khaleelundin was returning from Kagadi to his residence in Kiryatete cell in Hoima Municipality in vehicle registration number UBA 695F when he was intercepted by the thugs.  

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, says the thugs vanished from the scene without any trace. 

He says police detectives visited the crime scene and have kicked started investigations to apprehend the suspects.
