King Asantehene drew applause from thousands of Buganda loyalists as he made his way to thecelebrations venue at Lubiri -Mengo ahead of Kabaka Mutebis arrival.
The presence of the Ashanti King Asantehene Osei Tutu II and his entourage added excitement at the 25th Coronation Anniversary celebration of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi.
King Asantehene Osei Tutu II arrived in the country on Sunday on the invitation of Kabaka Mutebi.
Prior to the coronation celebrations King Asantehene Osei Tutu II visited Bulange-Mengo, the administrative headquarters of Buganda Kingdom together with host and attended a Service at Namirembe Cathedral on Monday.

celebrations venue at Lubiri -Mengo ahead of Kabaka Mutebi's arrival.
The King, who was clad in gold from head to toe, waved back to the Kabaka's subjects as he walked amidst raging trumpets from his entourage. Contrary to the Buganda culture where women are forbidden from showing their back to the Kabaka, Asantehene is led by two young girls who display rare strokes as he smiles on.
His royal guards also made spectacular display of the Ashanti culture when they blew trumpets and drummed for over 15 minutes prior to his speech at the event.
The royal guards chanted praises for their king before and during his speech. They occasionally interjected the king's speech in what seemed to be an encouragement to his King.
Asantehene noted that Kabaka Mutebi had visited him twice in Kumasi, Ghana and that it was with great pride, privilege and joy that he traveled to attend his coronation anniversary.

Kabaka Mutebi told his subjects that Asantehene's visit was important since his Kingdom shares a great bond with Buganda Kingdom.

Asantehene applauded Kabaka Mutebi for his commitment to peace and harmony in Buganda Kingdom and Uganda. He noted that it is appropriate for them as traditional leaders to look beyond their kingdoms and ask whether they are making the most of their leadership in the governance of their nations.

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II was enthroned King of Buganda on July 31st 1993. The Kingdom was abolished on May 24, 1966 following the abrogation of the 1962 Constitution, which forced Mutebi's father, Sir Edward Muteesa to flee into exile in the United Kingdom.
