fear in Tagga village in Kasaana parish in Kkingo sub-county in Lwengo district
following the brutal murder of two residents. One of the deceased has been identified as John Kaganda, a matooke trader while police are
yet to identify the other victim.
According to residents, unknown machete-wielding assailants waylaid and killed
separately. Other residents say the killers were donning reserve force
uniforms. After the gruesome act, the killers dragged the bodies of their victims and hid
them in the bush.
It is said that two were heading home when they were attacked
during the nighttime curfew. Peter Akampurira, the Lwengo District Police Commander, says that they have
taken the deceased’s bodies to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.
He says that they have commenced the search for the killers and urged residents
to be vigilant and report suspicious people to the authorities.
