Authorities Asked to Fence Thieves Out of Bududa Health Facilities

Tom Mukhobe Wandendeya the Bukibokolo local council five councilor said recently thieves also broke into Bukibokolo health facility and stole solar panels something that annoyed them as leaders. He appealed to the district to fence the facility so that they don't lose valuable items.


Residents of Bulucheke and Bukibokolo Aub Counties in Bududa district have appealed to the Bududa district authorities to fence the two health Centres of Bulucheke over Increased theft.

Recently thieves came in the night and stole bulbs in the incomplete theater at Bulucheke health facility something that delays completion beyond the expected time.

Residents like Peter Shimanya from Bukibokolo, Titus Mukute from Bulucheke, Nike Wambewo among others  also say that the compounds of the two facilities have been turned into grazing grounds for the neighbor’s animals something that compromises the health guidelines.

One of the security officers who had been hired to guard Bulucheke Health Centre III told URN that It would be good if they fenced the facility to tighten the security. He says he cannot guard every corner of the facility because it is expansive.

William Kotaki who is in charge of Bulucheke Health Center III confirmed the rampant theft at the facility saying recently, thieves broke in and also stole curtains at the outpatient department. He said they have tried to raise the issue with the district authorities but have been told to wait as they(district) are still planning to work on it.

Godfrey Nambale, the Bududa district Assistant Health Officer, said fencing of the two health facilities is already in plan and they will fence it but he did not reveal when this would be fenced.

George William Wopuwa, the Bududa Resident District  Commissioner said he is going to talk to the responsible personnel to see that those facilities are fenced because they have many expensive gadgets.
