Ayivu Division to Partner with CBOs in Awareness Creation on GBV

The department of community services at Ayivu Division Council in Arua City has joined partnership with Community-Based Organisations to raise awareness on gender-based violence.

It is hoped the effort  will enable the district officials to easily connect with survivors and perpetrators.

Ayivu Division Community Development Officer, Dorcus Asinduru, notes that men are the most affected in communities but mainly remain silent.

The Gender Focal Person for Persons With Disabilities, Chris Osooti, advises stakeholders to ensure that community engagements also focus on youths to prepare them for the future.

The Executive Director of Youth Entrepreneurship Skills Development Center International (YESDEC International), Francis Alemiga, is hopeful that the initiative will create an impact in the community.
