A number of civil servants in Kabale and Rubanda districts who obtained loans from Bayport Financial Services Uganda are accusing the company of making double deductions from their monthly salaries.

Ben Ngabirano, a teacher at Kamuko Primary School in Kashaasha Bufundi Sub County in Rubanda District, says that he obtained a salary loan from Bayport Financial Services two years ago. According to Ngabirano, he was expected to complete servicing the loan within six months.

He however, says Bayport Financial Services has continued deducting his salary to date without any justification. Mercy Kyobutungi, a health worker at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital says that she has suffered double salary deductions in the pretext of loan recovery for the last one and half years.

According to Kyobutungi, despite complaining to managers of the institution, she hasn't been helped. She wants Government to intervene and investigate the matter
