Forum for Democratic Change- FDC party presidential aspirant Dr. Kizza Besigye has apologised to the people of Ankole over failure to remove President Museveni from power in the last three elections.

Addressing hundreds of supporters at Kabwohe Grounds in Sheema district and Kizinda in Ishaka, Bushenyi municipality on Monday, Besigye said he regrets not liberating Ugandans from the corrupt regime of President Museveni but said with their support, he will be able to capture power come 2016.

Besigye reminded the crowd of how he has suffered in the hands of the NRM government, facing several arrests and detention over tramped-up charges of treason, rape and political persecution while trying to liberate them.

He pleaded with voters to reward his efforts by voting him as their party flag bearer to be able to over throw the current regime.

He called on his supporters not to lose hope in his candidature because he failed to win elections for the last three rounds. He blames his lossed on rigging by the ruling NRM party.

Besigye called on the people of Ankole not to rally behind former premier Amama Mbabazi saying, there is no difference between him and President Museveni, as they have both served in government for 30 years, enjoying themselves at the expense of voters.
