The police in Kyotera have secured a court order allowing them to exhume the body of George Lobero, 33, who was murdered and buried in the bush by his own brothers.

His two brothers Steven Katunkane, 35, and Moses Kakakumu 29, reportedly waylaid him in the bush where he had gone to check on his cows, and killed him.

It is said that Lobero, a resident of Nakatooke A village in Kasasa sub-county disappeared on Monday 15th February 2021 from a grazing field where he had gone to check on his cows.   In order to cover their crime, the killers dug a shallow grave and buried his body after taking his phone and national identity card.

However, concerned residents searched for him for several days until Thursday when they discovered the shallow grave in the bush.   The resident suspected the two brothers knew something about his death.   They later pursued them and lynched them for their alleged crime. Their bodies were taken to Kalisizo hospital for a postmortem.

ASP Muhammed Nsubuga, the Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson, has confirmed the court order saying the body will be exhumed for a postmortem.

Nsubuga urged residents to desist from actions that may land them in trouble and appealed to them to report cases to local leaders and police to handle them professionally.
