Police in Busoga North have retrieved the body of an unidentified man from a swamp in Bugolo village in Kisozi sub-county in
Kamuli district. The body was first sighted by fishermen who alerted police
authorities.
James Ngalonsa, a fisherman says that their fishing net was
heavy, which prompted them to think that they had scooped a crocodile. He, however, says that on retrieving the net, they found a body of an unidentified man lying there.
“Our fish catch ranges from largely 30 kilograms per night. However, our net seemed
heavier than usual and we decided to retrieve it out of curiosity, only to
recover a lifeless body of a man,” he said.
Joel Disala, another fisherman says that the area is
covered with a thick papyrus cover, making it a hub for criminals. “We have been
rescuing dozens of people from being killed in the thick papyrus cover, which
has become a hideout for several criminals," he
said.
