According to the councillors when they were tested at Budaka Health Center IV to enable them to attend the council meeting, they tested positive to covid-19. However, the councillors went to Nansanga Health Center III for a confirmatory test which turned negative. The results at Mbale Regional Hospital were also negative.
A section of Councillors in Budaka district have asked the police
to investigate allegations that Budaka Health Center IV issued them fake
Covid19 test results.
The councillors include Paul Kungu of Kakule Sub County, Jude Kalyebi of Budaka
town council and Tademeri sub-county, Hellen Aguramu of Kamonkoli Sub County/
town council and Godfrey Mbayo of Kabuna sub-county.
According to the councillors when they were tested at Budaka Health Center IV to enable them to attend the council meeting, they tested positive to covid-19. However, they were not contented with the results and went to Nansanga Health Center III and Mbale Regional Hospital for a confirmatory tests which all turned negative.
URN has seen copies of the test results from all three health facilities including
Budaka Health Center IV, Nansanga and Mbale Referral Hospital.
Hellen Aguramu, the councillor for Kamonkoli Sub County and the town
council questioned the move to alter the results.

Dr Erisa Mulwani, the district health official declined to comment on the
matter but Dr Winnie Mutaki the in charge of Budaka health centre dismissed claims
that the councillors were given fake results.
