Bududa GISO Arrested Over Murder

Hamada Manyoli, the Gombolola Internal Security Officer- GISO of Bukigai Sub County in Bududa district has been arrested in connection with the death of a resident of Bumatanda Village in the same sub county.

Diana Nandawula, the Elgon Regional Police Spokesperson told URN that Manyoli together with several others still at large have been implicated in the death of Asuman Wangaya, a businessman at Bududa trading center.

Wangaya, a resident of Bumatanda village, Bukigai Sub County was reportedly hacked to death on May 15th 2014 by his wife Beatrice Nandudu, after a long standing family feud over land and a house.

His blood stained body was found dumped in a bush about 400 meters away from his house.

Nandudu reportedly connived with the GISO and some his accomplices to kill Wangaya. Police has since arrested Nandudu after attempted to flee.

Nandawula identified the other accomplices who are said to be on the run as Amron Devis – a police detective attached to Bukigai Police post, Issah Wakoli and Adam Mukuba. Wakoli and Mukuba are the GISO's brothers.

She said during their meeting with the area resident on Tuesday this week, residents accused the GISO and the other suspects of helping Nandudu to kill her husband. It is also alleged the the GISO has been abetting several other crimes in the area.

Nandawula said preliminary investigation indicate that Nandudu and the deceased had been having wrangles over a plot of land in which their matrimonial house is built. The case was in court waiting disposal.

The two suspects are being held at Mbale central police station, while police is still hunting the three who are still at large.
