Police have shot dead a woman along Kayunga road in Buikwe district during fresh protests against the revised express penalty scheme. 23- year- old Kaziba Nabigada, a resident of Naminya village was shot this afternoon after police opened fire to disperse protesters who had blocked traffic along Kayunga road.
Samson Lubega, the Busoga regional police spokesperson says Nabigada was hit on the head by a stray bullet and died while being rushed to Jinja referral hospital.

Odur was in charge of the cops deployed to quell the demonstration. Lovisa Kaziba, a relative to the deceased accuses police of using live ammunition to disperse an unarmed civilians.
On Monday, taxi operators in Busoga region suspended their operations and blocked traffice to compel government to stop the implementation of the revised express penalty scheme arguing that, it was illegal since it was not sanctioned by parliament.
