Bulambuli Residents Remind President of Unfulfilled Pledges

According to Wananzofu, the President pledged to give the Taxi Drivers Association in the district a vehicle, 100 motorcycles to the Boda Boda Association, however only 20 were received.

Bulambuli residents on Wednesday reminded President Museveni of the unfulfilled pledges he has made since 2010.  

They tabled their demands in a memorandum presented by Simon Peter Wananzofu, the Bulambuli LCV Chairperson during a rally at Bukalu Sub County.

According to Wananzofu, the president pledged to give the Taxi Drivers Association in the district a vehicle, 100 motorcycles to the Boda Boda Association, however only 20 were received.       

    

Other pledges include two tractors to the district headquarters, the provision of first-class murrum roads in the district and tarmacking of the mountainous roads.

Wananzofu also asked the president to support farmers in the district with modern techniques of farming to transform them from subsistence to commercial farming.

Alex Bulondo, the Bulambuli County Member of Parliament told the President that the district is still facing the problem of cattle rustlers which has retarded development in the area. 

Bulundo said that over 200 heads of cattle were stolen in the last three months. He requested the President to deploy LDUs in the area.

Museveni also said that the government is working on roads citing Mbale- Bulambuli road which was already repaired.        

He also said that in July, Government will sign a contract for the construction of Muyembe- Namaru-Nakapiripirit road and Mbale-Namagumba Sironko road.
