The Bunyangabu District LC V Vice Chairperson, John Manume has resigned to join public service. This follows his appointment at Mountains of the Moon University-MMU in Fort Portal Tourism City.
Manume, who has been vice-chairperson since the creation of
the district in 2017 has also been the Katebwa sub-county LC V councilor. According to Manume, he decided to resign from his position in accordance with the
local government act Cap 243 Article 20 (c) (i), which gives room to the member
of the executive to resign.
Section 19 (3) of the same act states that a member of the district executive
committee shall not hold any office of profit or emolument likely to compromise
