Urunani who beat Tanzania’s Savio on Tuesday night recorded a second hard fought 68-66 win against Rwanda’s Espoir. The victory gave the talented young Burundians chance to get to the last four before they even face Ugandan side Kyambogo Warriors in the last group A game.

Ugandan League champions DMark Power who beat South Sudan Basketball Club in their first game on Tuesday night also made it two unbeaten games after their easy 85-73 victory over Tanzania’s ABC.Power’s Isaac Afidra admitted that while it was gratifying to make it into the semi-finals, the team would not relax. He said that they are organizing themselves better for the elimination stage where they will face  Kenya’s KCB in the group game which will decide positions. DMark Power beat the South Sudan team 97-64 on Tuesday.

In the other games played today at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium Berco Stars (Burundi) recovered from their first game loss to Uganda’s KCCA to beat Jeshi Stars (Tanzania) 83-47 in a women’s game, while Rwanda’s APR pulled out before even making it to Kampala because their team has seven foreign players and yet the FIBA rule only allows two.

Action continues on Thursday with eight games on card. Among the anticipated games to watch will be that between DMark Power and KCB.
