The National Resistance Movement - NRM party registrar Bushenyi
district has suspended the election to vote the NRM flag bearer for Youth
Female representative to the district after protests erupted.
Four candidates who are expected to contest are; Evelyn Kedembe, Barbrah Gumoshabe, Sheila Ainembabazi and the
incumbent councilor Rose Atuhaire.

He said that a section of youth were protesting the
candidature of the incumbent female youth councilor, Rose Atuhaire, saying she
is of over age to re-contest for district Youth councilorship.

Edwin Namanya, the chairman NRM youth Bushenyi Ishaka
municipality said that Atuhaire has been a youth councilor for the last three
terms and is currently she is seeking a fourth term.
Namanya, said that Atuhaire who first surfaced in
politics as a youth councilor in Kyamuhunga Sub County, was later voted to the
district youth council and she is the incumbent female youth councilor, a seat
she seeks to be re-elected to.
Sheila Ainembabazi, a candidate said that she had written
to the NRM party leadership in Bushenyi about Atuhaire's issue but authorities kept a deaf ear, the reason they are
protesting the elections.

Atuhaire, refuted all claims leveled against her and
asked her opponents to prove it with evidence.

Meanwhile, Barekye declared Crisbel Gumemuriwe as
winner for male youth councilor youth after gathering, 129 votes while Isaac Nahamya managed 23 votes only.
Today the NRM party was holding elections for youth and Special Interset group at district level.
