The heavy security presence and blocking of roads in
Komamboga has paralyzed transport and business flow in area.
This has followed an explosion resulted from a
suspected bomb that occurred at around 9:00 p.m yesterday at a small eatery called
Georon next to the famous Digida Pork joint in Komamboga. The explosion
reportedly left at least one dead and several others injured.
Some sources who preferred anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter say
that the blast left behind a huge hole at the Centre of where people were
seated and that some fragments hit people and cars as far as 100 meters.
Today Uganda Radio Network - URN reporters
visited the scene but revealed that it has since been cordoned off by various
security agencies who cannot allow people to enter inside and observe what the
scene looks like following the explosion.
The counter-terrorism police officers, Field Force-FFU have cordoned off the area and all roads leading to Komamboga trading center from the main Gayaza road and all other feeder roads are closed. Some of the residents said they got scared and could not open their businesses.

Kimbugwe Robert Kateregga, an area chairperson Komamboga Parish said most residents
are worried since this is the first incident of this nature to happen in their
area. Kateregga says most of people with businesses have not opened in fear of
what could fold again.

Kawempe Division Mayor Emmanuel Sserunjogi claimed
that before reaching at the scene he met security personnel along Gayaza-Komamboga
road directing boda-boda riders to vacate stages.
“Police have sealed off all roads, even reaching here I
had to go via Kyanja road which is too far, most of people are around this
place cannot go out, since everywhere is blocked," said Sserunjogi.
One of the boda-boda riders who preferred anonymity
also claimed in the morning that Police was ordering people in the trading center who
tried to open shops to close and leave.

Joseph Musa, another resident faults police for always
responding late whenever they are incidents like this, but start causing tension to the locals
by closing roads.

Different security personnel are still around roads leading to Komamboga trading
center. The detectives from Criminal Investigations Unit and
teams from Forensic police units and Bomb squad spent the day documenting the
scene of crime.
