The Confederation of African Football CAF- has changed Uganda’s fixtures for the forthcoming u-20 world cup qualifiers. Uganda will now face South Africa as opposed to Botswana as indicated in the first fixture.

“Previously, the system erroneously published a few incorrect fixtures. This has since been rectified,” reads a press statement from CAF.  The statement shows that the first leg of the third round will take place between 2 and 4 December 2021 while the return leg will take place from 16-18 December across the continent.

To reach the third round, Uganda ejected Kenya 10-3 on aggregate. In the first leg, Uganda hammered Kenya 7-2 and followed by Kenya a 3-1 victory in the return leg at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende. The qualifiers that started last August with 40 teams have now entered the third round with 16 teams.

The best two teams will secure tickets to represent Africa in the FIFA U-20 2022 Women's World Cup scheduled to take place in Costa Rica. Apparently, several members of the U-20 women team are already training with the Crested Cranes that is preparing for the African Women Cup of Nations qualifiers’ tie against Ethiopia.

These include Captain Fauzia Najjemba and star striker Juliet Nalukenge among others.  Earlier, Ayubu Khalifa Kiyingi, the head coach of the U-20 women team welcomed the fixture against Botswana because they are fair opponents compared to South Africa.
