Chinese Supervisor Arrested For Assaulting Employee

According to Hakiza, the suspect assaulted his victim accusing him of being lazy and selling fuel from the bulldozer. Hakiza says they have been hunting for Wangyi who has been in hiding until Tuesday night when he was picked up and whisked off to Hoima Central Police station.

Hoima Police are holding a Chinese national and Supervisor in China Railway Number 5 Construction Company accused of assaulting an mistreating an employee. 

China Railway Number 5 Construction Company is currently working on Kigumba Masindi Kabwoya Kagadi road. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, identifies the suspect as a one Wangyi. 

He explains that while at their Camp in Buhimba trading center in Buhimba Sub County in Hoima on August 6, 2018, the suspect assaulted and injured Darius Tuhimbise a bulldozer operator with China Railway Number 5 Construction Limited.

 

The attack left Tuhimbise with a broken leg and has since been hospitalised at City Medical health center. According to Hakiza, the suspect assaulted his victim accusing him of being lazy and selling fuel from the bulldozer. 

Hakiza says they have been hunting for Wangyi who has been in hiding until Tuesday night when he was picked up and whisked off to Hoima Central Police station.

 

 

The police spokesperson, says this isn't the first time officials of China Railway Number 5 Construction Company limited are accused of assaulting, harassing and mistreating their juniors.

John Stephen Ekoom, the Hoima Resident District Commissioner- RDC, says it is unfortunate that the company contracted by the government has now turned to torturing citizens.

 

 

He vows to take legal action against the Company directors since the accusations against the company officials have become rampant.  Our reporter was unable to speak to the suspect who is locked up at Hoima Central Police Station to hear his side of story.
