Confusion in COPA Coca cola Post Primary tournament in Soroti district has hit a snag at Semi finals after the teams failed to play on Sunday.
Confusion has hit the semi finals of the Copa Coca Cola post primary school tournament in Soroti. Trouble started after the quarter final match in which, Soroti Soroti Secondary school A lost to Light SS 2:1.
Soroti secondary school petitioned the results accusing Light SS of using a player from Soroti SS B. Soroti SS entered two teams in the competitions.
As a result, the organizers of the tournament suspended the semi final matches that were scheduled for Sunday. The organizing committee led by Pascal Obuutu, the chairperson Soroti district secondary schools Association convened on Sunday night but failed to resolve the dispute. Obutu told URN this morning that the committee would sit again to come up with fixtures for the teams that will participate in the Semi finals.
Initially, Soroti SS B was meant to play Noor SS in the semi finals while Kings Stone H/S was to play Light SS. John Peter Eritu, the secretary organizing committee says they expect to hold the semi final and final matches today. However, Nelson Odeke, the chairperson Soroti District Football Association has advised the organizing Committee to step up security for fear of violence from breaking out.
