Kigorobya Town Council in Hoima district is hunting for Uganda shillings 100 million to finalize the completion of its office block.

The total coast of building the structure is Uganda shillings 400 million.

Joshua Byangire, the Kigorobya town Council LC3 Chairperson revealed to Uganda Radio Network (URN) how much more is needed to have the office block fully completed.

He says though 90 percent of the work is done, more still needs to be done on the structure. Byangire says some of the remaining works include final painting, landscaping and stone pitching, construction of toilets, installation of water harvesting system, doors, windows, water piping system inside the rooms, connecting electricity among others.

According to Byangire, the town Council had challenges with revenue collection saying part of the money was supposed to be raised from local revenue saying that the situation has worsened with the COVID-19 lockdown that saw all businesses in the town council closed.

The Town Council Authorities have so far spent Uganda shillings 300 million on the construction of the Administration block.

Currently, the town Council workers operate from the same premises with Kigorobya sub county offices situated opposite Kigorobya Health Center IV.
