A Congolese National has been isolated at Kagadi General Hospital in Kagadi District after presenting signs and symptoms similar to those of Coronavirus.

The victim who is a 15-year-old girl is reported to be from the Democratic Republic of Congo. She arrived at the facility on Friday evening after experiencing general body weakness including Headache Fever and cough.

She crossed into the district through the Lake Albert waters and landed at Ndaiga landing site in Kagadi district on Friday. She claims to be looking for her father who resides in Kampala.

Dr Isaac Kakibogo, the Medical Superintendent Kagadi hospital says that the patient first reported at Kagadi Central Police station after she failed to locate the direction of Kagadi Hospital and thereafter officers at Kagadi police station rushed her to the Health facility.

Kakibogo says they immediately isolated the suspected patient since she was showing signs and symptoms of the Pandemic that has hit the world.

He says blood samples were collected from the patient and taken to Uganda Virus Research Institute for examination.

Kakibogo told URN that the patient revealed that she lost some of her relatives who were buried in DR Congo with suspected Coronavirus symptoms. However, this could not independently verify this.
