They were arrested while meeting the mother of a six-year-old pupil who was sexually molested by 20-year-old Edwin Asiimwe from Kigumba in March this year. The victim’s mother tipped off police that the couple wanted to negotiate with her to secure the release of their son who was locked up at Kiryadongo Police Station for aggravated defilement.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson told URN on Saturday that police has entered a case of aiding aggravated defilement against the couple. The victim’s mother says the minor implicated Asiimwe for sexually molesting her while at school after she noticed that she had developed swellings in her private parts. The victim was staying with her relative in Kigumba and returned to Gulu when government suspended school operations because of the covid19 pandemic.
