The Division Court Martial of 01 Special Forces Group (SRG) of the Special Forces Command (SFC) has ruled that a soldier who is accused of murder has a case to answer.

Julius Ecee was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated robbery 285 & 286 of the Penal Code Act and is currently undergoing trial by the Division Court Martial at Loro Ton Council in Oyam District.

In a ruling delivered on Tuesday by Judge Advocate Hassan Mulyanti, Ecee has a case to answer on both counts and ordered that the trial continues.

But State Prosecutor Lt. David Basiima told the court that the evidence produced is sufficient and does not have grave inconsistencies as is being alleged by the defense.

During the hearing, the prosecution presented 16 witnesses and nine exhibits to prove the matter against the accused person.

The prosecution alleges that on December 23, 2023, Ecee, dressed in military attire, entered a hardware shop in Loro Town Council, demanding money.

When the shop attendant fled, Ecee fired his weapon, injuring three people and stealing money from the counter. One of the injured later passed away in the hospital, and Ecee was subsequently arrested.
