The Pallisa chief
magistrate’s Court has rejected an application for a vote recount in the newly
created Gogonyo County. The application was filed by Issa Taligola
Bantalib after losing the parliamentary race to his National Resistance
Movement-NRM rival, Derrick Orone.
who ran as an independent candidate polled 6214 votes against 6280 votes
garnered by his rival. He rejected the poll results citing irregularities in
the tallying process.
