However, the prime suspect Patrick Kasaija alias Patrick Agaba wasn't in court as he is still locked up in South Africa awaiting extradition to Uganda.

The remaining suspects appeared before the Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate, Charles Yeteise on Friday afternoon. They were charged with kidnapping with intent to procure a ransom Contrary to section 243 (1) (c) of the Penal Code Act.

Prosecution led by Viola Tusingwire and Emily Ninsima, told court that the nine and others still at large on February 7, 2018 kidnapped Magara with intent to procure a ransom or benefit from her liberation from the danger of being murdered.

It further alleged that the accused and others still at large on the February 27 at Kigo in Wakiso district murdered Magara. The magistrate, Charles Yeteise didn't allow the suspects to enter any plea, saying his court lacks jurisdiction over capital offences.

He therefore remanded the accused to Luzira Prisons until June 1st, 2018 when they will return to court for the mention of their case. The 28-year-old Magara 28 was an Administrator in her family businesses as well as a cashier for Bwendo Dairy Farm in Hoima.

She was kidnapped on February 7th along Kabaka Anjagala road in Mengo on her way to her apartment in Lungujja. The kidnappers held Magara captive for three weeks as they demanded for a ransom of Shillings 700million for her father, John Magara.

After receiving the money, the kidnappers killed Magara and dumped her body dumped in Kitiko Village between Kajjansi and Kigo along the Entebbe Express highway.
