The Minister designate for Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng says the Government will take stock of the administration of the 964,000 COVID-19 vaccines received by the country. It follows reports on the recovery of 803 doses of vaccines stolen from Government facilities in a raid on two city pharmacies and the arrest of twelve suspects.

The government efforts to purchase more vaccines have been slowed down by the global demand for the same. Now with scarcity hitting the country, Aceng says that it is absurd that in the middle of a crisis, someone steals vaccines in the hope of making quick money.

According to Aceng, they will conduct an assessment on the different health facilities both Government and private that received the vaccines to administer them free of charge.
