According to information by our reporter, Nwoya district received 100 boxes of 500milliliters of milk on April 15, 2020 from OPM for distribution to Corona virus suspects and patients. However, the milk was remaining with a few days for expiry on May 5th, 2020.
Nwoya District Coronavirus Task force is stuck
with 244 liters of expired milk delivered by the Office of the Prime Minister-OPM
for use in its Corona virus quarantine centers.
According to information by our reporter, Nwoya district received 100 boxes of 500milliliters of milk on April
15, 2020 from OPM for distribution to Corona virus suspects and patients. However,
the milk was remaining with a few days for expiry on May 5th, 2020.

Chairperson, says they only served six liters of milk to six people quarantined
at Anaka Pope IX in Anaka Town Council.
He however, says the remaining milk is past its expiry date. He says
they now intend to dispose it off, saying it might be harmful to human health.
The Nwoya Resident District Commissioner, Agnes
Akello Ebong who chairs the Covid19 Task Force, says a decision will be made on
Sunday on what to do with the expired milk. He says it would be unfair to
dispose of the milk when some people are struggling to find what to eat due to
Covid-19 lock down.
Pamela Oroma, a resident of Nwoya, says her
immediate need is relief food for herself and her six children. Uganda has 114
confirmed Covid19 cases.
