She notes that the officers followed the thugs only to find the vehicle abandoned along the road with a lifeless body with bullet wounds. According to Alaso, on searching the vehicle, the officers found a lot of animal hair, ropes, gumboots, sandals, cow dung and one black back bag containing clothes.

“It should be noted that there has been an increasing cases of cattle thefts in the district and we believe this could have been part of the racket stealing cattle, efforts are in place to identify and trace the other occupants of the vehicle” she said in a statement.

Iman Dube, Ramadhan and Jonathan Taika, all residents of Kilyolo, say that they found the vehicle abandoned and thought that it had developed a mechanical problem only to realize there was a dead body inside. They also explain that they saw several bullet holes on both the front and hind screens an indicator that he was killed by shooting.
