Daniel Mwesigwa, the Principle Tororo Technical Institute, says the recovery of the body comes as a relief to the entire staff, students and management of the institute including the community and friends.
The body of a student of Tororo Technical Institute who drowned in river Malaba in October this year has been recovered.

The body was recovered on Sunday at Kataboi-Akolodong in Malaba,l over the 4 km stretch of Malaba River from Mella.

The deceased has been identified as Stephen Enapat Junior, a second year student of construction and resident of Kipiriyo North Zone in Mollo Sub County inTororo District.

Enapat reportedly drowned as he attempted to swim in the fast flowing river Malaba.

Daniel Mwesigwa, the Principle Tororo Technical Institute, says the recovery of the body comes as a relief to the entire staff, students and management of the institute including the community and friends.

The deceased’s mother, Ruth Among Olowo, says she and the entire family are equally relieved by the development because she can now believe that her son is dead.

The prolonged search for the deceased’s missing body had raised suspicion among his relatives who still doubted whether their son had really drowned or it was a camouflage by the school to blind fold the family.

Some had developed false suspicion that the deceased could have been kidnapped but the administration was not being open to them.
