The election of NRM party flagbeares in Kabale has been besieged by delays and saw some voter names missing on the party registers.

At Central East polling Station near Kabale central Police Station, voters were left looking on in confusion after they were told that the yellow books and ballot papers were not yet delivered.

While some people lamented about the lack of voting materials, the story at the Municipality stadium was a little different. In addition to delayed delivery of ballot papers, the presiding officers did not have chairs and tables.

Joseph Opio, the Central Central Presiding officer, says that by Mid-day, some voters who had braved the long wait were threatening to go back to their homes.

Voter turn up at Hamurwa Sub County's Nyakihanga and Habusindevillages was high but many voters' names were missing from the registers.

Alex Musinguzi, the presiding officer, said that he received instructions from the district NRM office not to register any new voters.

Morris Kaitaba the Kabale district NRM Registrar says he has been informed about the anomalies and his office is working hard to rectify them.

Voter turn out at Kyanamira remains low while in Muko, the voters there are complaining about the few ballot papers that were delivered to the polling stations.

But voter turn out in Ndorwa west has been high despite the irregularities reported there.

David Bahati, the incumbent MP, says he has received reports about the missing names on the voters registers. He however asked the voters to remain calm as the party's electoral commission tries to rectify this problem.
