Five people were this morning seriously injured in a bus accident along Customs Corner road near Lacor in Gulu town.

The bus, Friendship Coach registration number UAU708B, was on its way to Kampala from Adjumani when it overturned at about 10am.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa regional police spokesperson, told URN that the driver was driving recklessly while hurrying to get more passengers at Delta Petrol station in Gulu town. According to Okema, although the road is under construction, the driver of the bus tried to overtake another vehicle which made the bus to overturn.
