“Yesterday we woke up only to find that the drugs delivered to Abwong HCII was missing but the doors were still locked so this means the management of the facility might be aware of exactly what happened. We reported the matter to the police so investigations are on-going.”

Vincent Otile, the area LCII chairperson blames the facility’s management committee for failing to recruit security guards, installing lighting systems and fencing the facility which he said would prevent thieves from invading the facility.

He says there is a possibility that some staff at the health centre connived to steal the drugs.

Among the people who have so far recorded statement at the Police is Alex Opio, in-charge of the facility.

Early this month unknown people broke into Owiny HCII in Nambyeso Sub County, Kwania District and stole drugs worth 3 million shillings.
