Forum for Democratic Change's (FDC) candidate Kizza Besigye is in second place with 34.30% (1,767,041 votes) and Ex-Premier Amama Mbabazi at 1.73% (88,900 votes).
People's Development Party's (PDP) leader Abed Bwanika has so far accumulated 0.99% (51,150 votes), Professor Venansius Baryamureeba 0.64% (33,135 votes), Maureen Faith Kyalya 0.48% (24,536 votes), Benon Biraaro 0.30% (15,588 votes) and Joseph Mabirizi has 0.29% (14,757 votes).
The provisional results are from 14,710 polling stations out of the 28,010 polling stations across the country. This is currently a 52.52 per cent turnout.
The valid votes are 5,151,177 votes, 264,518 invalid votes and a total of 5,415,695 votes. EC also confirmed that 15,269 are spoilt votes.
